Entrepreneurs: Save on Taxes With These Year-End Strategies
It’s that time of year – the air is cold, the Christmas trees and lights are going up, and you should be thinking about year-end tax planning that will save you lots of $$ come tax-time next year.
While most people don’t think about taxes until 5 months from now, you can save yourself some big bucks if you give taxes a little attention now.
You Were Custom Designed For This … Your Great Work
It’s becoming more and more clear to me that we are each custom-designed for a very specific purpose on this planet. I call it your Great Work. The work you came here to do.
As I’m terming it, your Great Work is the divine combination of your inner work and your outer work.
Your inner work … the work you do on yourself to grow, to evolve your soul, to wake up to what’s real and true for you, to break free of the illusion.
You outer work … the way you put that work into service in the world.
So Ready For This (And Not Ready At All!)
In the morning, I leave for 12 days in Peru. It’ll also be my 37th birthday.
This is the longest trip away from my kids and the longest I will be without regular access to email.
I’m ready. And, I’m scared.
I’m in immense gratitude to the Universe for giving me exactly what I need when I need it, even though it’s challenging.
As a result of this trip, I have been given the opportunity to let go of what’s not serving me even more.
The Split Personality of Transformation
By its nature, transformation means going from being one way to being another way. Caterpillar becomes butterfly.
It means letting go of what was to step into what is becoming.
But there is that moment in between – the moment when what was and what is both exist in the same plane of existence. For the caterpillar/butterfly, the expression appears as goo.
My experience of it in this body is that of having a split personality. Literally, it feels as if there are two of me at this very moment in time.
Who Do You Serve and Where Do You Focus?
There’s a great conversation happening between two of my favorite entrepreneurial guys, Jonathan Fields and Bryan Franklin, about the focus on marketing v. customers that stemmed from a tweet by Bryan last week that said:
“I noticed that the speakers with $1-$3M businesses were fascinated with marketing, and the speaker with $100M biz was fascinated with customers.”
Jonathan says Bryan is right and that you’ll “solve most of your business problems by spending more energy figuring out how best understand your customers’ lives, psyches and challenges, then working to solve your customers problems and deliver delight to their doorsteps.”
Strategic Collaboration Possible for Women?
Today, I spent the day coaching the women in my Powerful Feminine Leader Mastermind and Private Coaching Group. It’s some of my absolute favorite work because the women who have come forth are magnificent examples of the feminine in leadership and I feel honored to support them as they explore and take action on the new paradigm in business.
We are throwing out the old way that is full of stress, struggle, and strain and ushering in a new way of grace, ease, harmony as we let go of false images and identities and step into the truth of who we really are … in life and business.
How to Become the Best Copywriter on the Planet
I just got off a training call in which I was teaching how to become the best copywriter on the planet. This call was an exclusive just for members of Max Simon’s mastermind, but I thought it was so important that I’m considering hosting it again for you.
If it’s something you’d want, let me know, okay?
Copywriting is literally the most important skill for you to learn if you are in business for yourself.
It’s expensive to outsource, difficult to find really great copywriters who can get your voice and speak to your clients, AND it makes the biggest impact in your success.
When Life and Business Collide
Bowled over by all your well wishes on the marriage. Thank you. We are so happy. And, most importantly, my children are so happy.
We told them on Saturday night at Agape right after Russell finished a sound healing session (Noah actually sat still and watched Russell play music for about 30 minutes!) and they were so happy. It’s as if they have been waiting for this and silently sighed when they heard.
I’ve been silently sighing myself quite a bit lately.
There are two things I’m struggling a bit with though:
1. Dave

Self-Care and Love … Yes, Even for Lawyers
I just got back from San Francisco where I was speaking to lawyers attending the American Bar Association Annual meeting.
I was honored to give two presentations while I was there.
The first, an ignite-style presentation in which I had 6 minutes with 20 slides advancing 18s at a time.
I spoke about Love, Sweet Love for lawyers.
Here’s a bootleg copy of that presentation.
What you can’t see is that my knees were literally knocking beneath my skirt.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever been that nervous doing a presentation before.
